Self-Guided Tours of Our Vermont Factory And Visitors Center

Factory tours are available as self-guided experiences. Our 160,000 square foot factory is a world of contrasts. Come watch sculptors using methods little changed over the centuries juxtaposed against the latest laser etchers and diamond saws. See cutting, polishing and rubber stencil layout for sandblast.

The factory is open for self-guided observation of our artisans Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The factory is closed all weekends, holidays and associated vacation days. For example, the factory is closed the Friday after Thanksgiving. The factory is normally closed during January, early February and the first two weeks of July for maintenance of heavy equipment and vacation.

Admittance for self-guided factory tours is -- FREE:

Our Visitors Center hosts many thousands of visitors each season. We welcome you and your family to pay us a visit to learn about Barre's storied past as well as the modern quarrying and fabricating operations. The Visitors center houses our video theater, a photographic timeline of the Barre granite industry, other interesting exhibits, historic photos and a gift shop where you can purchase finely crafted gifts from Vermont and from around the world.

Please note that although the Visitors Center is open from mid-May through October 31, the guided quarry tour and self-guided factory tour have their own distinct schedules. Please see the Narrated Quarry Tours  page for specific details regarding their dates and times of operation.
